Preferred applications are :

Adobe Illustrator CS2 (.eps, .ai and pdf)
Adobe InDesign CS2
Adobe Photoshop CS2 (layered)
Quark Xpress 6.x

Most Microsoft files are not usable for graphic output.

*FONTS:  For files created in Illustrator (.eps and .ai) please outline all fonts before saving file.
For InDesign and Quark, please include any fonts, placed images and logos used with your files.
Missing files or fonts can delay the production of your job.

Media Types:

We accept artwork via CD, DVD, email and FTP.
Smaller files (3 mb and below) can be sent via email.

 Proofs & Color Matching

Our software is designed to accurately reproduce MOST pantone colors, make sure any pantones used ARE NOT converted to CMYK.  It is important to understand that NOT ALL Pantone colors can be accurately reproduced in process color printing.

We highly recommend that all disks supplied be accompanied by a calibrated "contract" (approved) proof, made from the file, to be used for color matching.

Laser proofs, low-resolution outputs and digital proofs are acceptable to verify copy and layout only and cannot be used to check colors. 

If you prefer, Holzhauer Graphics can provide a digital proof (PDF - via email) for the purpose of approving content and layout.  DUE TO THE VARIATION IN COMPUTER MONITORS PDF PROOFS SHOULD NOT BE USED FOR COLOR MATCHING.

Holzhauer Graphics Inc. is able to generate proofs off your supplied disks. A fee is charged for this service and written approval is still required.

Important: Solid black is best set-up at: Black=100%, and CMY=65% each.

Scale

DO NOT SET UP YOUR FILES AT FULL SCALE. THIS MAKES THE FILES MUCH LARGER THAN NECCESARY.

Common scales are 5%, 10% and 25%.

Resolution

For any bitmaps (tiff, jpg, bmp) used in your design we suggest a minimum of 300dpi at 1/10 scale. 

Bleed

If you have any element of your design that bleeds off the edge, be sure to set up the correct bleed. Use these guidelines for setting up bleed.
Banners = 1.0" all sides (for example a 36" x 120" banner should be set up with bleed to 38" x 122")
Pressure Sensitive = 1.0" all sides
Billboards = 6" all sides
Vehicle Wraps = 6"
